This Privacy Policy describes how Bluelyze ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application available on the Apple App Store.
App Overview
Bluelyze is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanner and development tool for iOS. It allows you to discover, inspect, and interact with nearby BLE devices. All BLE data processing happens locally on your device.
- iOS App (App Store) - Bundle ID: com.appkadag.Bluelyze
Information Collection and Use
Information We Collect
Bluelyze is designed with privacy as a priority. We collect minimal information necessary for the app to function:
- Device Information: We may collect information about your device, including device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information — solely for ad delivery purposes.
- BLE Scan Data: Information about nearby Bluetooth devices (names, UUIDs, signal strength, advertisement data) is processed locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit this data to our servers.
- Favorites & History: Your saved devices, scan history, custom device names, and ignored device lists are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We do not have access to this data.
- Webhook Configuration: If you configure cloud webhook push, the endpoint URL is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your webhook endpoints or the data you transmit through them.
Important: Bluelyze does not collect analytics data. We do not use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or any other analytics SDK. Your BLE scan data and device interaction history stay completely private on your device.
Data Storage
All data created within the app is stored locally on your device:
- Scan History: Stored in SwiftData (on-device database)
- Favorites & Aliases: Stored in SwiftData
- Settings & Preferences: Stored in UserDefaults
- Advertisement Logs: Stored in memory during app session, exportable as CSV/JSON
None of this data is transmitted to our servers.
Bluetooth & Location
Bluetooth Permission
Bluelyze requires Bluetooth access to perform its core function — scanning for and connecting to BLE devices. This permission is essential for:
- Discovering nearby BLE peripherals
- Reading device advertisement data
- Connecting to devices and browsing GATT services
- Broadcasting as a BLE peripheral (Emitter feature)
Note: On iOS, Bluetooth scanning may also require location permission depending on your iOS version. This is an Apple requirement for BLE scanning — Bluelyze does not track, store, or transmit your location data.
Camera Permission
The QR Scanner feature requires camera access to scan QR codes containing BLE device connection parameters. Camera access is only used for QR code scanning and is never used for photos, video recording, or any other purpose.
Third-Party Services
Google AdMob
We use Google AdMob to display banner advertisements that help us keep the app free. AdMob may collect and use data for ad personalization.
- AdMob App ID: ca-app-pub-1981172639334201~9130187070
You can manage your ad preferences within the app under Settings > Manage Ad Preferences, or through your device settings.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
Bluelyze respects Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. On first launch, we ask for your permission before any tracking occurs. You can change your tracking preference at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Cloud Webhook Feature
Bluelyze includes an optional webhook push feature that allows you to send BLE characteristic data to an HTTP endpoint of your choosing. Important details:
- This feature is entirely user-configured and optional
- We do not provide, control, or have access to your webhook endpoint
- Data is sent directly from your device to your specified endpoint
- We do not intercept, store, or log webhook transmissions
- You are responsible for the security and privacy of your webhook endpoint
Data Export
Bluelyze allows you to export advertisement logs and device data as CSV or JSON files. These exports are generated locally on your device and shared through the iOS share sheet. We do not receive copies of your exports.
Data Security
- All BLE scan data and personal data remain on your device
- We do not operate any servers that collect or store your data
- We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties
