Privacy Policy — Tikly Counter (iOS)

The short version: Your counters and history live entirely on your device. We do not collect, upload, or sell your personal data. Ads are shown via Google AdMob — AdMob may use your advertising ID for this purpose. Pro subscribers see no ads.

What This App Does

Tikly Counter is a tally counter app that lets you create, track, and analyse personal counters — steps, workouts, daily habits, and anything else you want to count. It works fully offline. Your data never leaves your device.

Data We Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. The app has no user account, no registration, and no analytics SDK.

Counter data (names, values, icons, colours, goals) — stored locally on your device only
Counter history (timestamps of every tap) — stored locally on your device only
Settings & preferences (theme, language, notification preferences) — stored locally on your device only
Pro status — verified via Apple's StoreKit on-device; no account required

Deleting the app removes all of this data permanently.

Apple Watch & Widget Sync

Counter data is shared between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework, and displayed on your home/lock screen via WidgetKit. All sync happens locally over your device's Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connection — no data passes through our servers.

Notifications

Tikly Counter uses local notifications only (not remote push notifications) for optional counter reminders. No notification data is sent to external servers. You can manage these in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings → Notifications.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

AdMob by Google is used to display banner and interstitial ads in the free version of this app. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier and usage data to serve personalised or contextual advertisements.

Data used by AdMob: Advertising Identifier (IDFA), device model, OS version, approximate location, app usage events
Purpose: To display relevant advertisements and measure ad performance
AdMob's data practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy

App Tracking Transparency (iOS): Before showing personalised ads, this app asks for your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If you decline, only non-personalised ads are displayed — no cross-app tracking occurs.

To opt out of personalised ads on iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and disable tracking for this app, or enable "Limit Ad Tracking" in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.

Pro subscribers see no advertisements.

In-App Purchases (Pro)

Tikly Counter offers an optional Pro subscription (monthly and yearly) that removes all ads and unlocks premium features. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store payment information. Transactions are governed by Apple's Standard EULA.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Since we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no personal data to access, delete, or export from us. For ad-related data held by Google, visit Google's Data & Privacy settings.

EEA users: a GDPR consent dialog (powered by Google UMP) is shown on first launch. You can update your ad consent preferences at any time in Settings → Privacy & Ads.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
