Add a dog's weight, activity level, life stage (adult/puppy), and goal (maintain/lose/gain), then pick a ratio model — PMR, BARF Classic (70/10/10/10), or BARF with Veg — or define a fully custom percentage split. The app then splits the daily total gram amount across muscle meat, bone, liver, other organ, veg/fruit, and seeds/supplements, and shows the exact formula behind every number.
Yes. In expert mode (onboarding or a dog's profile), you can enter your own percentage for each component. The app validates that your percentages sum to 100% and warns you if the liver percentage exceeds 5%, since too much liver risks vitamin A overdose.
It generates a 7-day meal plan from your dog's daily ration, split across the number of meals per day you've set. Tap any day to see a gram checklist you can mark as fed, and tap any gram value to see the underlying formula (weight × daily% × category% ÷ meals/day).
Meal-Prep mode is a distraction-free, ad-free screen meant to be used with wet hands while portioning food at the counter — reached from the Plan tab's header icon. It deliberately never shows ads or interrupts you mid-prep.
Log what you have in the freezer (ingredient, category, quantity, purchase date, optional price) and BARFRatio forecasts when you'll run out based on your meal plan, sorted soonest-running-out first. The Shopping List is auto-generated from your plan × chosen span (7/14/28 days) minus your current freezer stock, plus any low-stock alerts — you can also add items manually and share the list.
No. All dog profiles, ratios, meal plans, freezer stock, shopping lists, and feeding logs are stored only in a local database on your device. There is no account, cloud sync, or server-side backup, so uninstalling the app or resetting your device will remove this data.
Yes. Every calculation, meal plan, freezer entry, and feeding log entry works fully offline. An internet connection is only used to display ads (and, on iOS, to process a Pro purchase).
Pro removes ads. Every calculation and planning feature stays free for everyone on both platforms — Pro is a "support the app + go ad-free" purchase, not a feature unlock. Android is free and ad-supported with no in-app purchases at all.
No. BARFRatio provides ration calculations for informational purposes only. Always consult a licensed veterinarian or veterinary nutritionist before making significant changes to your dog's diet, especially for puppies, large breeds, or dogs with health conditions.
